Live Content Version 1.2
DNN Version 4.8

Live content ePicture element added in the live content module, developer mode enabled, element enabled but not showing the element.

Calling the element from within a Text/Html module as:

The element shows 'loading', however never displays anything.  I can click on it and cancel it.

I am doing the same thing with a few eVideo elements on the same page and they are working correctly.

Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Chas

Hi Chas,
you syntaxt is incorrect. Please refer to documentation for details...

You need to have the image source (path) before the #LiveContent[CallTag] syntax...

Hi Mandeep,

I'm trying to do the same thing. I've read the documentation, and these posts, but this is not making sense to me. The image I want to launch is already loaded into a livecontent module, developer mode on, call tag set.

Now, to use this feature, I have to know where the module is storing the image (the path)?? Or, I have to upload the image again to another portal folder?? The emodule, evideo, econtent use of developer mode makes much more sense.

The documentation shows how to do this from Google, which doesn't help me understand this at all. Please explain how to do this more explicity, as I am confused. Your tutorial section would be more helpful if it showed the epicture use, too.

Thanks,

Rob Ralston

Never mind. I figured out to make this work.

I am new to LiveContent, and this part is also confusing me as well. I have followed the examples and it seems that the only way I can get a link to pop-up an ePicture that I have set a calltag against, is to ensure the ePicture element is part of a LiveContent module on the same page. Why?

If I setup a photo gallery on one page, then create a new page with HTML text/links; I am unable to get my LiveContent calltags to popup properly. The link created simply opens the picture as a new page rather than the popup. I have tripple checked that Developer Mode is enabled, and verfied the calltag spelling and case.

Check out http://www.allsop.ws/site for an example. I have a text sample with the following URL:

http://www.allsop.ws/site/Portals/0/LiveContent/409/Images/IMG_0374.JPG#LiveContent[thevan]

This link will open the picture in a new window instead of the popup effect. To get the popup effect to work, I need to place the picture in a LiveContent module on this same page as the link. Is there a workaround? Am I doing something wrong?

Hmm...guess Mandeeps is on vacation? Not seeing a great deal of responses to anyone lately.

Well, I moved the example above to a new sub page.

http://www.allsop.ws/site/Blog/test/tabid/61/Default.aspx

The link still attempts to reference a calltag on the Photography page. If this is not possible or I am doing something wrong please let me know.

Brandon,
you must have the calltag link on the same page as Live Content module....you cannot use the callltag link on any page simply because Live Content module needs to be present on the page to do it's magic and convert your standard link to launch the Live Content way...

Workaround:
Have a live content module on same page; uncheck "show element" and "display container" so it would not show...

Apologize for delayed response, we've been working on several of our next releases that will be coming up in upcoming weeks.

Ok, I see.  The workaround does the trick.  But it requires that I keep two separate ePicture elements around if I have the same picture on another page (that I don't want hidden).

Is there an easy way to copy an element from one LiveContent module to another?

You dont' have to create a new module ...you can use the insert existing module feature of dotnetnuke.

There is no easy way to move a element to another module; but you can export the XML and import it in another. This is only recommended if you need to move many or all elements...
